Propst life with the Rendille
February 10, 2010 3:52 pm

Hello world!  Managing to not kill eachother in the process, we are beginning our first experience with blogging.

A year and a half ago, we moved into the northern deserts of Kenya to work with the Rendille people.  The Rendille are semi nomadic people who live off of camel milk and blood.  They are fragile as life is harsh.  But we are hopeful as God is at work and things are changing.  Jim’s first jobs included building our little home, building and installing a water supply with tank, pipes and solar pump,  building 3 classrooms, and other various projects.  Laura has been teaching in the new Tirrim Secondary School – some amazing and wonderful kids!  Laura also teaches a Bible class to the church married women each Friday afternoon.

Right now we’re in the US – traveling around seeing churches and friends – trying to avoid the snow storms and ice – and enjoying the wonderful US roads.

In the future, we hope to make this a bit more exciting by adding pictures and such.  Bear with us and we’re open to advice!
